My Top 10 Favorite Role Cards in Ultimate Werewolf: Deluxe Edition

Ultimate Werewolf is a bluffing card game which is great for team building, party and reunion activities. Here’s how the game is played: all the players will be given a role card. The game is composed of night time and day time. If you are team Villager, your goal is to vote for who you think is the werewolf during day time. The suspected villain will get to be executed in front of all the villagers by revealing his card. At each night, werewolves will choose which villager to devour. All the role cards that died in the evening will be revealed in the morning. If you are team Werewolf, your goal is to appear as a harmless villager, so that you will not be voted to be killed in the morning.

Adding to the group of harmless villagers, there is the all-knowing Seer that has an ability to pick a player  each night and know if he or she is a werewolf or not. There is also the powerful Witch who will know who died in the night. She can choose to heal the werewolf victim or choose to use her killing ability to kill the suspected werewolf at night time. There’s also a twist in the game with the lovers or sweethearts. When one is eliminated, the other one also dies because of broken heart.

 

Ultimate Werewolf: Deluxe Edition is the Best Werewolf game edition so far with over 75 cards to choose from (40 unique cards). Aside from the werewolf and villager team, there are other teams added. There is the Cult Leader who wins if all the team members have been converted to his cult. There is the Tanner who wins if he is killed in the game. The identification of the team is based on the color of the cards. Color blue is for the villagers, color red is for the werewolves, and so on. Since there are over 40 unique characters, I’d like to give you my Top 10 Favorite Werewolf Deluxe Edition characters.

 

Popularly always included in the game, the witch is the heroine of the villagers with the usage of her two powerful potions. The hunter on the other side is good to be included if there are other races in the game such as vampire, lovers, or cult leader.

The bodyguard is best added if there are many werewolves in the game. I like the village idiot since one single vote is an instant kill to an accused player. Add the idiot or the cult leader if you have a vampire in the list to provide balance in game.

The vampire is most likely the strongest card in the game since the he is immune to werewolf’s attack at night. On the shape-shifting side, the doppelganger adds fun in the game since her role can shift to other team later in the game.

Adding twists to the game are the minion and the cupid. The minion tries to save the werewolves every elimination in daytime. The cupid chooses the two sweethearts in the game. If the sweethearts are on the different team, their goal now is to save each other by forming a new race now over their initial group.

The Aura Seer can see special characters only. This is very advantageous to villagers when you have special characters. The Paranormal Investigator is also advantageous if he stays later in the game since he knows if there are werewolves in the group of three once per game.

Aside from bonus cards, the game’s box also contains instruction manual, suggested scenarios, and alternate role playing, which is very good to read in the bundle. They also provided papers for the moderator to list the cards he choose in a game. The game will be enjoyed and will be discussed after the game ends. That’s how interesting it is!
